Performance and Value Analysis of the Kerman 500 Kw Photovoltaic Power Plant

چکیده
The Kerman Photovoltaic Power Plant is unique, not in the particular photovoltaic equipment selected, but in the siting of the plant in relation to the electric power system and how the plant interacts with that system. Kerman is the world’s first plant designed and built specifically to measure the benefits of a photovoltaic system to the local distribution grid. In addition to the traditional energy and capacity values typically attributed to generation sources, several non-traditional benefits were quantified. In providing energy services to its customers, a utility’s expenses can broadly be categorized into capital costs for system expansion and operating costs for the actual generation and delivery of electrical energy. Construction of the Kerman plant allowed the calculation of several benefits which either allow deferral of capital costs or reduced operational costs. Performance of the plant over the past year and an evaluation of all the benefits are discussed. For Kerman, the value of non-traditional benefits doubled the value of the plant compared to the evaluation of only energy and capacity. The Kerman grid-support project challenges current resource planning methods to be expanded to adequately capture the impact of photovoltaics and other distributed generation resources.

Performance evaluation of first Iranian large scale photovoltaic power plant
In recent years, due to the fact that non-renewable energies come to an end, renewable energy is expected to provide a significant part of the future needs of Iran. Among these energies, solar energy is a suitable option for a wide range of the country, due to availability, proper radiation intensity, and high sunshine times during the year (about 300 sunny days per year). The purpose of this p...

Three-dimensional numerical simulations are performed to investigate the effects of pressure drop across the turbine and solar radiance on the performance of a solar chimney power plant (SCPP). The SCPP system expected to provide electric power to a city is located in southern region of Iran (city of Lamerd, Fars province). Its dimensions are similar to the Manzanares prototype (built in Spain,...
متن کاملAnalysis of Temperature Effect on a Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module Performance
In this paper, the effect of the cell-temperature on the performance of photovoltaic (PV) module is evaluated. The evaluation is based on a mathematical module (single diode equivalent circuit) and practically based on solar module tester (SMT). Solara®130W PV crystalline silicon module was used in this simulation. The SMT is able to supply a constant irradiance level (1000W/m2) or any other de...
